THE government has expressed its commitment of allocating more funds to improve transportation services for the Police Force in the country. This was said before the National Assembly here by Minister for Home Affairs Charles Kitwanga, when responding to a question by Musa Ntimizi (Igalula- CCM).he minister admitted that several police stations were experiencing the problem, but he promised that his ministry in the forthcoming budget will increase funds for procurement of more motor vehicles and purchases of fuel.In his question, the MP pointed out that the citizens in Loya Ward in Tabora-Uyui District Council have responded to the government’s call for community policing through construction of a police station within the Ward.
He, therefore, wanted to know when such police station would be launched considering that Loya Ward is positioned more than 120km from the headquarters of Isikiye District, where there is a police station.
The MP further sought to know the government’s plan of increasing fuel budget to improve work performance as the geographical areas for his constituency was large and each area needs police services. Mr Kitwanga first thanked the citizens and other stakeholders involved in the construction of the police station in the Ward.

But he was quick to point out that despite such progress being made, the station still lacked other essential places. The minister pointed out that the police station has no place for keeping firearms, toilets and houses for police officers.

He promised that the police station would be launched soon after availability of the said three places. He asked the lawmaker to continue encouraging his electorates to complete the construction works. The minster further responded that the government plans to increase the fuel budget in different areas, depending on availability of funds.
