,43, a driver and Kelvin Johnson ,42, a farmer, both of them residents of Dar es Salaam.
Speaking at a media briefing session, he said: “During a search, they were found with an SMG
with serial no. 3778 and 26 ammunitions in its magazine and each of them wore a talisman.”

Acting Iringa Regional Police Commander John Kauga said the suspects were Mauld Dikimnya ,43,
a driver and Kelvin Johnson ,42, a farmer, both of them residents of Dar es Salaam. Speaking at a
media briefing session, he said: “During a search, they were found with an SMG with serial no. 3778
and 26 ammunitions in its magazine and each of them wore a talisman.”
He explained further that the serach yielded bus tickets showing that they had travelled on the same
day of the incident from Mbeya to Iringa.
The police officer added that law enforcers had received reports that the two men may have been
involved in a recent robbery in Njombe Region, pointing out that nvestigations were still underway to
establish whether or not they had taken part. “There have been reports that the dead men were
involved in the banditry carried out the day before yesterday in Njombe Region. We have contacted
our colleagues, who will come to verify whether they are the ones or not,” he said.
Kauga said the bodies of the gunned down suspected bandits had been preserved at the Iringa
Referral Hospital. He appealed to to wananchi to continue co­operating with the police by
volunteering tips on suspicious individuals
