THESE captivating pictures show a mother orangutan brandishing a stick and fiercely protecting her offspring from a wild boar.The mother took up arms against the hog after it got a little to close for comfort in the Borneo jungle.The baby ape clung to her mother’s back as she bravely shooed the pig away with a stick.Russian photographer Julie Sundukova captured the images on a visit to Borneo.
She said: “This mother was brave enough to show the wild pig that she was ready to hurt them if it meant protecting her baby.“I found that very touching.“Spending time with these amazing animals in the jungle is unforgettable.”
